We headed out of camp this morning for a shorter (3hr) drive. The first stop was a pod of hippo which we photographed low down from the rocky riverbank – eye level shots! Sneaking around from one side of us gingerly crossing the river was a pack of hyenas… time for us to get back in the vehicle!!
Heading off we caught a glimpse of another rhino – making three sightings in one week!!! Amazing! I never thought I’d see one let alone three!
Just when we thought we’d done really well for our last drive out we came across a beautiful female leopard called Bahati (Olive’s daughter) and stayed with her for an hour, photographing her. She’s now taken over all of Olive’s territory and hadn’t been seen for 2 weeks prior to today. What a perfect ending to our week – what a fantastic last drive. Unbelievable sightings.
I was very sad to say goodbye to Henry & the team at Entim & leave the Masai Mara behind. Felt as though I was being torn away from the place when our little plane took off from the earth strip. Africa does that to you… it gets into your blood & you just can’t get enough of the place. Kenya is a wonderful country with wonderful people.
I can’t believe what an amazing weeks photography I’ve had – I’ll get the photographs processed in the next few weeks – there’ll be some great new fine art prints coming soon!
Thanks to David Lloyd and to all the staff at Entim and special thanks to Henry for finding so much of the beautiful wildlife to show us!!
